Over the last few years, interest in green infrastructure as a viable part of the solution for combined sewer overflows has grown considerably and nationally many programs are seeking to adapt their respective programs to incorporate it to varying extents. Only recently have several communities reached acceptance of green technologies as an approved element of their consent decrees. Although EPA and state regulatory agencies promote the use of green infrastructure as an important component of environmental policy for improving the water environment and improving the sustainability of our communities, it’s acceptance in approved control plans and enforcement mechanisms has not occurred until recently. This webcast presents 3 case studies that chronicle the efforts of 3 wet weather programs that have recently involved negotiating or re-negotiating consent decrees to incorporate green infrastructure as an accepted component of the control program.
